Lionesses and Creaky Bones.

March came in like a lamb. The Lion arrived around 10 days later, with wind and heavy rain but also with what we experienced in Glasgow where 2 Munro women showed themselves to be lionesses.

The lack of wind did bring a little atmospheric mist and drama.

A morning walk along the Caol Riviera rarely disappoints.

At the other end of the day a moonrise and the dusk chorus was magical.

When your daughter’s as strong as an ox, it’s prudent to utilise that strength when required. The quad broke down on the far side of the burn and we Oldies couldn’t push it out. So when she was home in January we asked for her support.

Then, a couple of days ago we went to watch her and her cousin Dara compete at the Hy-Rox event in Glasgow. It was a pleasure to see them work together as a team and to watch the dynamics between the competing women. We feel pleased that we were able to offer some training on the Croft and are confident that we made a difference. She certainly made a difference to where the quad is now parked.

We witnessed Munro true grit in action. Meanwhile my sisters 2 pals were the oldest female competitors in their first ever competition, (aged 66&67 - maybe even the eldest altogether) won their category and a place in the Stockholm event. It’s an amazingly inclusive sport but as brutal for each age group as the next.

I feel I’m doing well if I get up in the morning and flex my shoulders, my neck and touch my toes. There is a LOT of creaking. Maybe I’m going to have to try a bit harder…..
